Stella was born at St Lukes Hospital in Guildford. She first became interested in Radio Lion after seeing the fundraising stall at the Shere fair. Following this, she joined in August 1986 intending only to visit the wards to collect requests.

However, due to the lack of female members at that time, Stella was persuaded to become a fully trained presenter, which she did, along with her trainer, Peter Kilbourn on Spotlight.

During her time at Radio Lion, Stella has broadcast many programmes including Kaleidoscope, Spotlight and currently Lifestyle.

The nickname, "The Lady Who Knows", was given to her by a former member, Matt Skinner in 1988. Over the years, she has been consistently asked "what does she know"? That is part of her mystery. Why not tune into her programme to find out?
