Shaz Ney

Shaz Ney has spent a lifetime presenting under various guises, from a teacher and trainer to an MC and official commentator for the UK's oldest re-enactment society. She joined Radio Lion in November 2007 and is absolutely delighted she took the plunge.

With what may best be described as an eclectic approach to just about everything, her musical tastes range from classical to modern.

Shaz is fascinated by gadgets, history, science, science fiction, films, philosophy, psychology and motivational therapy/training. She spends her time trying to keep up with her various interests and delighting in the company of her partner and best friend, Graeme.

She has a Ph.D. from the University of Durham and was a visiting professor at the University of Michigan and a teaching fellow at the University of Leeds.

An American Civil War re-enactor, she can be found most weekends during the summer sitting around a campfire or marching with members of the 55th Virginia as part of the Southern Skirmish Association for whom she also manages the website and administrates the forum.

Her dream is to one day combine her delight and enthusiasm for all academic and popular studies with her presentation skills and work for the BBC.
