Celia Ebdon

Celia Ebdon grew up in Bedfordshire, moving to Surrey in 1980 following her husband-to-be to his first job in Guildford after graduating.

She trained and worked as a nursery nurse for seven years. On coming to Surrey, she took what she thought would be a temporary job with Thames Water in Godalming. She ended up staying for five years before moving to Belgium for fifteen months.

Celia had her first experience of speaking on air at TWA in the radio control room communicating with the mobile maintenance staff reporting leaks and consumer queries.

Upon returning from abroad, Celia worked for a local solicitors for five years before having a son. She later worked part-time for a few years as a home advisor for Dorling Kindersley Publishers and at her son's nursery.

Celia has always been interested in music, learning the piano for ten years. She was inspired from her father who listened to classical music every night and her older sister who was a fan of 50s and 60s hits. Celia religiously listened to her favourite stations in the 70s and beyond. Her taste has become more eclectic through the years.

She has a variety of other hobbies, which include culture, the arts in general, travel, cookery and dabbling in various crafts.
